m7kni.io is the documentation hub for the open-source tooling M7KNI Ltd publishes. Every project site on this domain — /opnsense2otel/, /meraki-dashboard-exporter/, /synthkit/ and the rest — is documentation for a repository under github.com/rknightion, and it is built from that repository rather than maintained separately here. When the code changes, the repository pushes and the docs rebuild; there is no manual publishing step in which the two can drift apart.

What is documented here

The estate is a set of standalone tools, in three groups:

  • Observability — exporters and bridges that turn a vendor API into OpenTelemetry or Prometheus telemetry: OPNsense firewalls, Cisco Meraki, Tailscale, Microsoft Graph, Salesforce Event Monitoring, AI-platform usage, and a synthetic-telemetry generator for testing the pipelines that consume all of it.
  • Home Assistant — custom integrations that bring device and vehicle data into a Home Assistant installation.
  • Everything else — standalone utilities, including a paperless-ngx deduplicator and an Intune assignment browser.

Each project's own site carries its installation, configuration and operational reference. The glossary is shared across all of them, so a term is defined once for the whole estate rather than eleven times with eleven small differences.

How the site is built

Every project ships only its Markdown and a small manifest. This hub clones each repository, builds it, and merges the result into one deployment, so the whole domain shares one theme, one stylesheet, one search index and one sitemap. The output is entirely static: there is no application server, no database and no request-time rendering anywhere on m7kni.io.

That has a consequence worth stating plainly for anything crawling this domain: a 404 here means the path does not exist, not that something is temporarily unavailable. Retrying will not help. Read /llms.txt or /agents.md and route from the index instead.
