description: A native iPhone, iPad and Mac client for working with Backlog.md boards where they already live.

# Backpocket

Backpocket is a native iPhone, iPad and Mac client for
[Backlog.md](https://backlog.md) boards. It reads and writes the Markdown files in your repository
or selected folder directly. There is no Backpocket account and no service in the middle.

## Your boards, where they already live

- Connect to GitHub, use a local clone, or choose a folder.
- See in-flight work across projects, browse a project as a list or board, and search the local
  cache when offline.
- Update supported task fields without reformatting unrelated Markdown.
- Keep interrupted writes visible in the outbox and make conflicts explicit.

Backpocket also offers an anonymous, read-only path for exploring a public Backlog.md repository
without signing in.

## Documentation

- [Getting started](getting-started.md) explains the available connection paths.
- [Working with boards](working-with-boards.md) covers reading, editing, offline data and conflicts.
- [Support](support.md) has practical troubleshooting steps and the contact route.
- [Privacy](privacy.md) explains what the app stores, what it sends and what it does not collect.
